Welcome to the official Sherlock HolmesSherlock Holmes is the worlds most famous and recognized fictional detective, the first pop icon of the modern age.

“Like
the air we breathe, Sherlock Holmes is everywhere. His pipe-smoking,
deer stalkered image peers at us from ads in Yellow Pages, to signs for
neighbourhood crime-watch; from billboards to the classroom; from film
and television to the public library, and now over the Internet. He
long ago transcended the boundaries of 19th Century London to become an
international best-seller and has been accepted as part of British
folklore. Holmes is alive to millions.”
A brilliant London-based “consulting detective”, Sherlock Holmes is
famous for his intellectual prowess and is renowned for his skillful
use of astute observation, deductive reasoning and inference to solve
difficult cases.
Of all the literary figures created since William Caxton printed the
first book in English in 1474, Sherlock Holmes is surely the most
widely recognisable. This timeless character appeals to all ages and
all races and the degree to which he is accepted into near folklore
around the world is well documented. The brilliant, descriptive
stories, written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle which have been translated
into hundreds of languages, are now taught in many schools across the
globe, in Japan, USA and Europe they from part of the national
curriculum; their presence helps to ensure the continuation of Holmes’s
place in popular culture for generations to come, creating prehaps the
greatest literary brand opportunity of all time. Trademark Notice: ©

Released

The much-hyped movie starring Robert Downey Jr. as
Sherlock Holmes (with Jude Law as Watson and Rachel McAdams as the love
interest) opened across North America on Christmas Day. Did I see it on
opening day? I did not — the theatre here in Waterloo was full! Reports
from preview showings were positive, and as I read Twitter tonight I’m
seeing enthusiastic comments much like those ankle-deep congratulatory
telegrams that are mentioned in “The Reigate Squires”. I hope to see
the film soon, and I expect to enjoy it . . . but I assure you, it’s
not going to change my fundamental idea of Sherlock Holmes, which is
based on the original stories and the best movie screen of all: my
imagination. Meanwhile.

A new edition of my Sherlock Holmes Handbook (cover, right)
has been published by Dundurn Press, which published the original
edition in 1993. Over these years, many Sherlockians have kindly told
me that the Handbook has been one of their most essential reference
books — and enjoyable reading too. But things do change, and it’s more
than time for a new edition, catching up on new films and books and the
advent of the Internet, which (as you may have noticed since you’re
here) has spread Sherlock Holmes’s fame and Sherlockian fun even farther worldwide.

Camera SD1200 Review

This is my first digital camera that I have had got. At first I was a bit hesitant to buy a digital camera for fear that I wouldn't be able to figure out how to work it, however, after purchasing the pink canon powershot camera SD1200 I could not be happier with the high technology. This camera is so simple to use and it provides amazing quality pictures. If you are looking for a camera that just requires you to point and shoot and nothing else than this is the complete camera for you. All you need to do is set it to auto and let the camera take care of the rest. However, if you are someone who likes to make your own adjustments this camera should make you happy as well. The menus on this camera are so simple to use, they are thinking, clear and very easy to understand. One of the best features that this pink canon powershot camera has is the viewfinder. It is hard to believe that so many of the other digital cameras on the market today come without this unbelievably useful tool. Once of my hobbies requires that I take hundreds of pictures outdoors in a single day, so I am often without access to a barrage charger. The viewfinder feature on this camera allows me to turn the LCD screen off in order to save battery power and use the viewfinder rather. Over the past 2 weeks I have snapped over 1000 pictures, all of them outdoors, without a flash, and without the LCD screen, on one single battery charge. It's hard to fathom I know, but my battery isn't even dead yet! The picture quality of this camera has been perfectly amazing. Even though most of the pictures I have taken so far have been outside, even when it's cloudy and damp the pictures have been incredibly crisp and clear. I have also taken several pictures indoors with equally amazing results. If you are in the market for a pink canon powershot camera I highly recommend the SD1200, it has all the qualities that any picture taker could want for a very affordable price. If you are still unsure of the pink canon camera you are searching for or just want to read more information and reviews on the Pink Canon SD1100 than click either of the links in this paragraph to find all the information you need to find the best pink Canon Powershot camera that is right for you.
